CCFL – What the Hell Is It?

In a previous review for Samsungs latest 32 inch LCD TV I mention in the specs it’s got CCFL technlogy. Well I let that one slip through without an explanation anfd I think it deserves one.

You seen CCFL is nothing special so stating it in the spec is crappy sales patter.

CCFL stands for Cold Cathode Flurescent Lamp and its simply used in the back of most LCD TVs as a way of backlighting the display.

CEC – Consumer Electronics Control

Standing for Consumer Electronics Control – CEC is just a part of the existing HDMI standard and is an acronym for the controlling signal carried by the technology.
