This is one of few 32″ plasma tvs on the market as this size normally works best as an LCD format but LG have pulled a rabbit out of the hat with this one as it provides incredible visuals with crisp contract and briughtness. Colour was slightly off but after some minor tweaking we got it to just the right level.

Sound is high quality but with slightly too much bass – again this can be turned down so it’s not too much of a worry.

This set is part of LG’s latest Scarlet range of TV sets and is one hell of a snazzy piece of equipment. The Scarlet range of LCD TVs by LG are so-called because when in stand by they emit a scarlet hue from the bezel of the screen. Very nice to look at as you’re turning the lights off at night to go to bed.

The back panel is also in a deep red colour to match. Now onto the tech specifics and you’re not let down here. With 4 HDMI connectors 2 SCART and composite its one of the most connected TVs on the market.

Sound quality is superb too with the hidden speaker system built into the base having being tuned by hifi guru Mark Levinson.

You can’t go far wrong with Sony and this is no exception. Everything they make screams quality and with the features packed into this box you’re onto a winner. I’d highly recommend this if you can afford the price tag. At this price range thoguh it is the best on the market. Make sure to avoid getting it from Currys as they still haven’t got the latest prices on offer at ther stores.

If your looking for something a bit higher specced then give the Sony W5500 a try.

This Panasonic has a good range of inputs available, a clean SD card slot for viewing photos and is a good performer when it comes to picture quality. What lets it down is the lacklustre sound and iffy design of the casing. If you’re happy with the look of it though then the low price more than makes up for th esound quality. The great picture quality is down to Panasonic’s brilliant V-Real 3 technology that helps it produce smooth motion and very vivid-looking colours during high action.

32 Inch Samsung LE32A457

We tried the Samsung LE32A457 on the 12th of June ’08 and we found it to be very easy to setup the video & sound. To get the best from this tv you do have to fiddle with all the settings, and there are a lot of them! The defaults are OK if you just want to watch TV – but loads better after my tweaking the settings. I was impressed with the picture quality and I don’t have to have the volume up high to hear the sound clearly. I’d strongly recommend you shell out for a HDMI cable if you have anything connected to it.
